HTML Character Entities ?

Is there a standard list of HTML Character Entities and if so, is there a list of browsers which recognize these standard entities?

The reason I ask, Firefox recognizes the entity for the angle symbol from geometry, but Internet Explorer does not.

at the end of the day, I suggest to deport from IE and go the Firefox/Chrome/Opera way....

Character Entity References Defined in HTML 4.0

I can view ∠ symbol in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera.
