don't get your point, thanks anyway. Marta

Yes very true.... But if you speak in general terms where daily use is concerned i dont feel that we need to see if the source code is openly available or not...Its the matter of easy usage...And i feel chrome is better because chromium was the project launched from google to check the product's working..

Open source doesn't mean just it can be downloaded for free but also that the source code is available to anyone and anyone can modify it. Chromium allows that, Chrome doesn't. Am I correct?

Chromium lacks some basic functionality since it is derived from Chrome browser. And talking about open source even google chrome browsers can be downloaded free of cost.

what about Chromium? don't you mind Chrome is not open source?

MadDogTen
Did it. :)

Chromium (Google Chrome) is the best IMO.

I just like using Bleeding Edge Stuff. When I had Firefox I used the Minefield Version, and when I used Opera I used the Alpha Version.

I never really thought about it being Open Source when deciding. I look at the Speed and Features, and overall fill of the Browser. When I first used Chrome, is had stuff on it that I never thought about when using other browsers, and now I can't not have them.

Do you like the fact Chromium is Open Source? Did it affect your choice of the browser?

Chromium is the Open Source Version of Chrome. It is bleeding edge, and can break at any time, while Chrome is well tested. There is no auto updating for Chromium, meaning you have to download each New Version yourself.

Which is the main difference between Chrome and Chromium?

Anyway thanks for your help!

Opera, always and all the way :P

Don't own a smartphone or a wii, so theres no issue there.
Just my computers, and they all run Opera primarialy.

Indeed, I read an article saying thatOpera opened up its source code last year. What do you feel about it?

I don't really mind them not being open source, it would help for some of the bugs and stuff, but since the make good sooftware and patch reletivly fast, I don't mind them being Closed-Source

Tamil
Completed.

Why only two browsers as option for 'Which browser are you currently using?' question?

Why checkbox instead of radio button for 'Which is your gender?' question?

I really apologize if the survey did offend you, this was not my intention and I perfectly understand your point. Unfortunately I cannot changed the structure of the questionnaire once launched because this would mean losing all the data collected so far. Without doubts, I have learned "the lesson". Take care,
Marta

gender is not a true-false question: many people don't feel 100% male or 100% female and therefore will be unable to answer that question. I for myself for example will refuse to answer any questionnaire having the gender-question as a radio button.

Thanks, not just for completing the questionnaire but even for the feedback:
- I put just IE and Mozilla because they represent opposite points of view (i.e. capitalism VS democratization/open source); anyway you can select the option "Other" and specify which one you are using, i.e. Chrome.
- for the gender question, i guess you are right, but i think this is not a big deal!

Hope i answered your questions!
Good night,
Marta
